Christmas eve

Christmas eve

Henry is in bed with, I'm sure, sugar plumbs dancing in his head. We've had a good Christmas Eve. Since Lisa's parents are here and leaving mid-morning tomorrow, we decided to have our Christmas meal on Christmas Eve. We had a green olive soup, Bell and Evans roasted chicken with lemon, garlic, and rosemary; roasted root vegetables with rosemary and horseradish; and wild rice with cranberries and apricots. Everything turned out well.

We ate diner early and then went to a candlelight service at our church. It was truly a Christmas miracle to see Lisa's dad, a Baptist preacher, in our Presbyterian church. It was a nice service.

Lisa's dad is watching Christmas episodes of American Chopper and Monster Garage. Lisa and her mom are wrapping Henry's presents. His gifts from us include:

Vsmile TV Learning System
Hungry, Hungry Hippo
Don't Wake Daddy
My First Magic Kit
Mary Poppins DVD
We also got a couple small stocking stuffers. I'm not sure what Lisa's parents bought him.

Earlier today Henry said to me, "Daddy, this is the best Christmas ever!" I asked him why it was the best Christmas ever. He said, "Because it is fun." I have to agree. This is a fun Christmas.
