My son the anarchist

My son the anarchist

Maybe it was the tie dye T-shirt he made earlier this week. It could also be that he is long overdue for a haircut and we all know that long hair fosters rebellion. I'm not sure of all the contributing factors, but when we picked up Henry from preschool on Thursday afternoon, his teacher informed us that he had organized his fellow classmates into a repetitive chant of "We don't have to listen to you!" Needless to say, she was not amused.

In one way, it was great to know that we seem to have a natural-born leader on our hands. We just hope he will use his powers for good rather than evil. We had a long talk about leadership, respect, and appropriate behavior. It is a bit of a tightrope walk to both encourage independent thinking and conformity.

BTW, for the photo that accompanies this blog, I had to really coax my normally happy-go-lucky kid into giving me his sternest face.
